Located in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the 5* Quinta da Marinha Resort is surrounded by wonderful pine trees and a fabulous golf course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones.
Following an extensive ReStyling in 2014, the resort now boasts a more contemporary feel Quinta da Marinha Resort is a 35-minute drive from Lisbon and only 4km from Guincho Beach. A courtesy transfer to Cascais is offered to resort guests.
There are a total of 198 rooms as well as 43 bungalows on offer to guests on this complex. Each of the rooms are air-conditioned rooms and have a spacious balcony with panoramic views of the golf course or the Sintra mountain range. Rooms also include a minibar, flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a wide range of essential amenities.
Guests may pay a visit to the bar or dine in one of the 2 restaurants. Five Pines Restaurant offers international buffet meals while the 'Rocca' Restaurant serves gourmet Portuguese cuisine.
Live music can be heard at the Trent Jones bar. The resort has a full service spa offering a wide range of treatments. There is also a fitness centre and both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
The course has recently been used for a PGA Challenge Tour event, and despite its youth is a fantastic mature test. Set against the astounding backdrop of the Atlantic Coast, the course measures 6,419 yards from the championship tees, and is a terrific test for every player, be it the professionals or the average golfer.
The par-71 layout is undoubtedly a hidden gem of Europe, where you can enjoy an outstanding round of golf while you gaze over the rugged Atlantic coastline that makes Portugal's Western area so special. It's a Robert Trent Jones style course with Greens and High Tee's, several bunkers and some lakes.
