Description & Reviews

Valderrama really does need no introduction as it has simply been the number 1 course in Europe for as long as anyone can remember.

Originally built in 1974, designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior and called Los Aves this course didn’t make much of an impact on the golfing world. However when billionaire Jamie Ortiz Patino bought the course in 1985 and had Trent Jones make a few changes everything changed – so much so it is now regarded as one of the finest golf courses in the world.

Since 1985 Valderrama has tested all of the golfing greats and has witnessed some of the most dramatic professional tournaments in the world. Having hosted the Volvo Masters in 1988 – 1996 and from 2002 – 2008, two American Express World Championships, (1999 & 2000) the Andalucia Masters in 2010 and 2011 and of course the Ryder Cup in 1997 Valderrama is without doubt a course that has to be on your ‘must play before I die’ list.
